Applied Behavior analysis (ABA) is the process of systematically applying intervention based upon the principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviours to a meaningful degree. Although ABA is predominately used for those individual’s with Autism Spectrum Disorders, the techniques could be used to teach the general population.

ABA Therapy and how often should therapy be done and when?

ABA Therapy is consist of intensive programming that is tailored to the child's needs. Depending on the child's skill level of disability the amount of hours needed for services will vary.

The amount of therapy and services needed will be determined and recommended by our Program Managers. The expected range of number of hours is is are typically from 6-20 hours a week. Children needing more help and support will be at the higher range while those requiring less support will be at the lower end.

The earlier a child receives ABA therapy the better. Children that receives intervention earlier than age of 4 are considered to be having early intervention services. Even if a child does not receive intervention at an early age, they can still benefit from obtaining therapy at an older stage. No one is too young or too old to receive therapy.
